Rainbow Abilities Center, a day program for adults with intellectual and developmental
disabilities is accepting resumes for the position of Assistant Director. Applicants will be
responsible for assisting the Executive Director in the overall operation of the Center

Hours- M-F 7:30-3:30 may vary based on special circumstances

 

Summary of Duties: Assist Executive Director in carrying out the mission of Rainbow
Abilities Center, including supervision of staff, development of Individual Plans, staff
training, data collection, monthly reports, community involvement, and safety issues.
Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our Mission and Values
Qualifications: Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in the
field of MR/DD or relevant experience may be substituted for degree, familiarity with the
Department of Mental Health, proven experience in leadership/management and the
ability to turn ideas into action

About Rainbow:


Rainbow was started in 1983 by a group of parents who were looking for a program to
assist their adults’ children who were not eligible for employment in sheltered workshops
or supported employment. Their goal was to retain learned skills by working on daily living
skills and community awareness. Over 40 years later Rainbow continues to provide these
crucial services to individuals throughout the area


About the position:


We are looking for caring, energetic direct care workers to provide positive,
compassionate support to the Individuals we serve in accordance with the Individual
Support Plan (ISP) Plan, Missouri Quality Outcomes and program goals set forth by the
care team daily duties include:
-Assist in an assigned learning spaces or on community outings with an assigned
group/individuals
-Maintain confidentiality for HIPPA
-Demonstrate engagement with Individuals in a supportive, helpful and gentle manner
-Ensure completion of daily documentation
-Work cooperatively with the team to maintain cleanliness of equipment and materials
-Attend and actively participate in required in-services, trainings, staff meetings or other
program plan meetings as assigned
-Ability to handle all physical aspects of the role including, bending, stooping, lifting 50lbs,
pushing, pulling, reaching and standing/walking for periods of time
